Welcome!

My name is Ann and this is my Family

Family at Grand Lake in Colorado

We’re a blended family of six. Between my husband and me, I have four girls aged between 11 and 15. We are navigating the challenging terrain of the teenage years, and it’s a whirlwind of chaos! We reside in Colorado; I was raised in Steamboat Springs, and now, we all live in Broomfield. With kids attending four different schools and engaging in various activities, finding time to bond as a family is a real challenge. I’ve discovered that traveling serves as a great reset, allowing us to establish core memories together.

My blogs share our experiences and how we make it work (and sometimes, how we don’t). Ever since we combined our families, we’ve enjoyed numerous exciting trips together. Our adventures have taken us to various places in Colorado, including Grand Lake, Winter Park, Keystone, and Steamboat Springs. Additionally, we ventured to Hawaii in 2022, where we tied the knot. Along the way, I’ve taken the time to gather and share a bunch of tips for navigating the unique experience of traveling with a blended family. I’ve also traveled quite a bit with my husband (minus the kids) and love writing about the places we’ve visited.

Where have I traveled?

Before turning 18, I was fortunate enough to have traveled the world. I attended a private high school nestled in the mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where they placed a high value on outdoor exploration and foreign travel. My parents shared the same appreciation, taking us camping throughout Europe (on a budget!). As a teenager, the countries I visited included:

  • Ecuador & Galápagos Islands
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam
  • Laos
  • France
  • Germany
  • the Netherlands
  • Switzerland
  • Austria
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • the Czech Republic
  • Hungary

As an adult, I’ve slowed down a bit, but I’m working to instill the same values in my children. I’ve traveled extensively throughout the United States. As a Marketing Consultant, I’ve had the opportunity to travel for business across the country, an experience I’ve both enjoyed and learned from, gaining insights into the ins and outs of the airline industry.

My Inspiration

My Parents – Traveling for Seniors

We lost my dad, Wally in 2022. My dad ignited my passion for travel. My mom has visited all 7 continents! They are incredible, and I’m excited to share their adventures with you. Even as retired individuals and seniors, before we sadly lost my dad, he continued traveling well into his 80s. You can do it too!
