3. Soak at the Strawberry Park Hot Springs

This is one of my favorite things to do in Steamboat Springs in the winter. Through the years, Strawberry Park Hot Springs has undergone significant changes, yet it retains its status as a must-have experience. Nestled in a remote location, these natural thermal springs provide a rejuvenating soak for weary bodies after a day of skiing. The springs have been developed to cater to tourists, offering amenities such as restrooms, a heated cabin for changing, and picnic areas. These did not exist when I was growing up here! The drive to the springs along a scenic and winding dirt road adds to the adventure, with 4-wheel drive or winter chains being necessary in the winter. It’s a genuinely beautiful and worthwhile experience.

4. Swim & Soak at the Old Town Hot Springs

For a more accessible and family-friendly soak in natural springs, consider visiting Old Town Hot Springs. Enjoy the year-round, natural outdoor hot spring pools conveniently located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. I’ve been swimming here since I was a kid and have seen it evolve over the years.

The hot springs pools are naturally heated, emanating from the ground. There is a heart springs pool, a main pool, as well as additional spa pools. Alongside all this, there is a fantastic water slide that is enjoyable for both kids and adults alike. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, these pools offer a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.
